Althan's Old Dumping Site

JOIN THE MOVEMENT

There are many ways you can contribute to the Althan's Old Dumping Site project — whether by giving your time, money, or materials to help the forest come alive.

The project spans approximately 13,546 square meters and will feature around 35,810 trees. It will include a dense forest, a herbal (Aushadhi) garden, and a butterfly garden — creating a thriving, diverse natural space for the city.

This project is built with a long-term vision. Plantation takes place in the first year, followed by five years of dedicated maintenance to help the forest grow strong and self-sustaining — just like any natural forest.

Below, you’ll find the project details, including the budget, materials required, and their quantities. You can also see the timeline of the project to understand the different phases and milestones.

Children at the Heart of the Forest

We believe that children should take center stage in the creation of this urban forest — making it a powerful opportunity to teach future generations about environmental stewardship and the importance of conserving our natural world.

Our aim is simple yet powerful: One Child, One Tree.

We intend to engage 36,000 children from private and public schools, encouraging each child to plant at least one tree. Through raising funds, spreading awareness, and bringing their families to participate in plantation activities, students will take real leadership in climate action.

This transformational project — turning a once-polluted dumping site into a thriving forest over the next 8–10 years — will inspire students to find their voice, deepen their bond with nature, and carry the spirit of regeneration throughout their lives.

By the Children, For the Children.
